Shave or wax 24 hours ahead, exfoliate the night before with an oil-free scrub, and arrive with bare skin — no lotion, deodorant, makeup, perfume or SPF.

Anything sitting on your skin acts as a barrier, and that's where uneven color comes from.

Loose, dark clothing and sandals. Tight waistbands, bra straps, jeans and socks press into developing color and can leave marks before you rinse.

Two to three days before, not the day of. Color keeps developing after you leave, and it looks and photographs its best once it has settled.

For weddings, the Bridal Glow includes a trial tan ahead of the day so we can get the depth exactly right with no surprises.

Entirely up to you. Plenty of people go without, plenty wear a dark bikini or underwear they don't mind. There's no wrong answer and nothing about it is awkward.

On your period, yes — it makes no difference to the tan.

Pregnant or nursing, the standard advice is to check with your doctor first. Plenty of clients do it; I just won't give you medical advice about your pregnancy.

The tan itself is about 15 to 20 minutes. Add a little on your first visit for the consultation, where we choose your color and talk through aftercare.

No. Orange comes from the wrong undertone for your skin, or a solution too dark for how it's applied. Both are decisions made during the mix — which is exactly why every tan starts with your skin instead of a menu of shades.

Yes. I've done specialized training in melanin-rich skin and women of color, and I formulate custom color for every body type and depth. There's no house shade here.

More than fine. First-timers get the same unhurried walkthrough as everyone else, and most say afterward that it was faster and far less awkward than they expected. You'll know what's happening before it happens.

We set your rinse time in the room, based on the depth you're going for and the color we mixed. You'll leave knowing exactly when to get in the shower — don't guess from something you read online.

Warm water only, no soap and no scrubbing, until the water runs clear. The color washing off is the cosmetic bronzer, not your tan. Pat dry with a towel instead of rubbing.

Around seven to ten days with good aftercare. Moisturize daily, keep showers short and cool, and stay out of long hot baths, chlorine and hot tubs.

Hot water, exfoliating scrubs, bar soap, chlorine, salt water and anything with a high alcohol content. Shaving takes color off too — do it gently and less often than usual.

After your first rinse, yes. Before it, sweat can streak developing color — so schedule the gym before your appointment, not between the tan and the shower.

Yes. A sunless tan gives you color, not protection. Wear SPF exactly as you would without it — and it helps your tan last, since burning peels color right off.

Meg does — she's a Registered Nurse, and piercings happen in a private studio, by appointment. That means sterile technique and a real conversation about placement and healing before anything happens.

Message before you book and we'll sequence it properly — a fresh piercing and spray tan solution shouldn't meet on the same day.

The Radiant Road Signature Tan is $60. The Endurance Tan and Bridal Glow are $70, and the Vacation Glow is $85. Mobile and group tans start at $75.

Yes. Mobile tans cover Iowa City, Coralville, Cedar Rapids and the surrounding towns. Travel is included within North Liberty; outside that radius there's a travel fee, so message for a quote.

Absolutely — bachelorettes, bridal parties, sororities, birthdays and girls' nights. Message first for anything larger and we'll block the time properly, either at your place or in the studio.

Cancellations after that point are charged 50% of the service. No-shows are charged in full.
